The Federal state unitary enterprise “Russian state concern for electrical and heat energy production in nuclear power plants” (“Rosenergoatom” concern) was established in accordance with presidential edict on the 7th of September 1992 №1055 “On operating organization of nuclear power plants in Russian Federation”. The establisher of “Rosenergoatom” is the Federal Agency for Federal property management. Its senior organization is the Federal agency of nuclear energy.

Nowadays, all 10 Russian NPPs (total capacity — 23242 MW) are the affililations of generating company Rosenergoatom. 31 power-generating units are operated by Russian NPPs. 15 of them are VVER (pressurized water-to-water energy reactors) power units. 9 units are VVER-1000 and 6 VVER-440. 15 of them are graphite-moderated channel reactors (11 RBMK-1000, 4 EGP-6) and 1 fast neutron reactor (BN-600).

Foreign economic JSC "Techsnabexport" carries out export of goods and services, produced by enterprises of the Russian Federation Federal Agency for Atomic Energy as well as import of state-of-the-art technological, medical and other types of equipment. The unique feature of JSC "Techsnabexport" includes delivery of an entire range of nuclear fuel cycle products and services.

TVEL Corporation is one of the world leading manufacturers of nuclear fuel. TVEL-labeled fuel keeps running 73 commercial (17% of global market) and 30 research reactors in 13 countries worldwide. The Corporation’s employees total over 40,000 persons. Joint Stock Company TVEL was founded on September 12, 1996, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 166 «On Improving Nuclear Fuel Cycle Enterprise Management» dated on February 8, 1996, to make its authorized capital consolidated with stocks of the nuclear fuel cycle enterprises owned by the state.

The intricate economic conditions of the mid 1990’s forced to consolidate stocks of nuclear fuel cycle enterprises as one asset and by this to keep up the potential of nuclear industry ands retain traditional sales markets. In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s JSC TVEL implemented measures to increase its share in the authorized capital of affiliated companies incorporated into the Corporation. Stocks of JSC Zabaikalsky Mining and Beneficiation Company , Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, JSC Malycheva Mines Management, CJSC Dalur, JSC TVEL-INVEST were purchased. JSC TVEL also increased its share in the authorized capital of those companies, which were parts of affiliated companies and subsidiaries.

All JSC TVEL stock is 100 % owned by the state.

At present, TVEL Corporation includes 14 enterprises of nuclear fuel cycle – among them are the largest uranium mining combines and nuclear fuel fabrication plants, as well as enterprises of engineering support infrastructure.

Joint Stock Company "ATOMSTROYEXPORT" (ASE) was established in 1998, by decision of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Atomic Energy (MINATOM), in order to promote the efficient export of Russian-made products for nuclear power projects abroad.

ATOMSTROYEXPORT was created by merger of AO "Atomenergoexport" and VPO "Zarubezhatomenergostroy" - the associations, which accumulated more than 25-year experience of cooperation with foreign countries in construction, operation and modernization of nuclear power plants.

Now ATOMSTROYEXPORT possesses both the unique experience and substantial engineering capabilities to work in the global market. The nuclear power plants built for our customers in Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Rep., Slovakia, and other countries, operate reliably. In most cases, the guaranteed parameters have been exceeded.

Loviisa NPP in Finland and Paks NPP in Hungary are among the best nuclear power plants in the world in terms of performances and economic characteristics.
