US, Russia work to reduce nuclear warheads

The United States and Russia hope to have in place a new nuclear arms deal before the existing treaty expires in December.

President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev say they want a new deal in place before the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty expires on Dec. 5. The White House announced Wednesday that the two countries would work together.
